Bleached and weathered to a smooth finish, river stones are marvellous. To be honest, I nicked a couple to put in my Japanese stone garden back home (which now has rocks from Iceland and Denmark in it, too. A some point in the future, some geologist finding the remain of my garden will think he's come across the mystery of the century).
