It was not going well against Chile. I stood next to the TV screen and looked back at the audience to take this shot. Strangely, the crowd were not that animated, not I reckon, as much as they would have been in England. I often think about the years of misery watching England get defeated time after time after time in major football competitions. Four years ago, the Spaniards made our team look like school kids, now their team looked ordinary - I guess it all goes in cycles. Anyway, the final result was Chile 2 Spain 0 and they were on their way home. Oh well, as the Spanish say "al final todo es una mierda de pollo" - "In the end, it's all chicken s**t"
