All over Galicia, there are these elevated grain stores. The elevation prevents water damage or rat attacks. You see vaguely similar type huts in rural England, but less ubiquitous. The Galicians seem proud of them to the extent that models of them cast in silver are sold in shops - we resisted the temptation to bring one home.
