January 22 2015 - Bank/Cafe Interior
I went in and had a look around. This area was an open area where the customers queued, the other side of the glass barriers where we, the bank staff were holed up. I never operated the tills, my work was restricted to doing what was called "batches", i.e. balancing the cash/cheques that was paid in or withdrawn with the accompanying slips. The only thing which has not changed is the view from the windows to the buildings across the street. My career there was short but lively - I enjoyed cracking jokes and one day, the manager, whose name was Donald Monk Earl, had me in to his office to tell me I was doing alright, but could I calm down a bit. The next day, I resigned.
