We went for lunch at the excellent Princess Victoria near Shepherd's Bush. We both independently ordered whitebait to start and I remarked to Nicko that whitebait was one of his grandfather's favourite dishes, a preference that now, it seems, spans three generations. It was served, quite rightly, with alioli and it was delicious.
