19 December 2012 - Nicotinal Contemplation
A hero of mine, Vivien Stanshall once wrote in his autobiographical song "Bout Of Sobriety", "Wake up in the morning with a concertina cough / my coke-encrusted lungs a fluttering like a pigeon loft / Brown-top-fingers fumble for the 1st day's fag: stick it in my face & (cough) What a drag". One other quote I especially liked was "If I had all the money I'd spent on drink, I'd spend it on drink". Good old Vivien.

m My Da was a bit of a smoker. At times of high stress, he would smoke even more. So on cattle sale days, when the proceedings lasted for many hours, he would chain smoke with even shorter intervals than usual. Later in the day, his fingers would be truly dark brown.
