April 25 2015 - From The Balcony, "Death of a Salesman"
I really enjoyed the play, which was brilliantly acted by Anthony Sher and brilliantly written by Arthur Miller. If I'm honest, the theme now seems a bit of a cliche, although I think saying that in a post modernist context is an easy pop to have and perhaps I shouldn't indulge myself so. Otherwise, my thoughts were 1) How do people learn their lines? 2) Their accents seem very real (Sher is in fact South African), how do they do/maintain it? 3) I wonder what the real motivation was for Arthur Miller to marry Marilyn Monroe? and finally 4) I didn't realise the chap next to Rob was none other than Russell Crowe.
