My Dad loved the expression “Every dog has his day” and the Scottish nationalists are in the middle of their day right now. The Scots are revelling in their extraordinary ability to very sensibly reject independence by a significant margin, whilst extracting promises for all sorts of preferential treatment from the central government. And, to add insult to injury, they perpetually deride the central government as the wicked monsters of faraway Westminster with impunity since they know that the SNP will have a sizeable chunk of seats in Westminster – enough to irritatingly call the shots in the numerous voting stand-offs, inevitable in the coming hung parliament. Nicola Sturgeon is bright and articulate and is well capable of capitalizing on the Scottish “Doggy Day”, but she should remember Nick Drake’s words “When the day is done, down to earth and sinks the sun, along with everything that was lost and won, when the day is done”.

Giles I understand that 100 Billion Barrels of Oil have been discovered in Sussex. Shall we expect to the emergence of a new SNP?
Pepe It seems the Scots are willing to vote Labour or Conservative just to keep the SNP out according to tonights Vox Pop on Newsnight.
JJ Pepe, I didn't see that comment about the Scots "willing to vote labour to keep the SNP out", but that seems totally contrary to every other source suggesting the opposite.
