View as we sat stationery on the flyover above the A4. We had decided to nip up to town and three hours later we arrived in Covent Garden. This may be a foretaste of Olympic London. In fact, just today we heard that security forces will be siting ground to air missiles on the top of a London block of flats and there will be "assault ships" at the ready in the Thames. I'm beginning to wonder if its all worth it. Incidentally, the eagle eyed will spot the RAF Tornado fighter, swooping low over the A4 as it completes one of its "reconnoitre sorties" over the capital - this is just another "precautionary security measure" as Mayor Boris Johnson puts it, so that we can all "sleep that bit more soundly in our beds" - lets hope there's not too many night flights, eh?
