After dinner, we settled down for the Chelsea v Barcelona game, the semi final of the Champion's League. I thought that they'd lose something like 4-0, after they were totally outplayed in the first game in London. Of course, miraculously, they had still actually won that first game 1-0 against the run of play, with Barcelona having 80% of the ball and incredibly missing 4 or 5 good chances. Tonight's game was even more astonishing. Chelsea seemed totally out-played again, but Barcelona just couldn't get the ball in. They had a goal disallowed as offside and then the world's no.1 player, Messi missed a penalty. Although Chelsea' captain Terry was sent off, they just hung on and hung on, but they also got TWO breakaway goals out of the blue. And, one of Chelsea's weakest players, Torres actually got their 2nd goal. We saw the whole thing at the Hurricane Hotel lounge, where the atmosphere was electric. Interestingly, tonight's crowd, who were mainly Spanish, seemed more pro Chelsea than the home team. Here, Chelsea's Spanish forward, Torres, walks back, cool as a cucumber, after scoring the clincher.
