We made a "pilgrimage" to Canterbury, but I have to say that I didn't consider the significance of the timing, it being Easter, until after we had arrived and gone on a walking tour, taking in the famous Canterbury Cathedral. It is said that Simon of Cyrene helped Jesus carry the cross, although this is not mentioned in St John's gospel.
