Bula!!
Like they say hey in Fiji! After Cairns I went to Fiji for 12 days and those days were amazing from many point of views:) I left from Cairns on the 7th of May at 6am and almost missed my flight.. Okay the flight was 6am so obviously I had a massive night on 6th w my mates from Sweden and Norway in Cairns. Without any sleep I proceed easily through security check but then I fell sleep on a couch. It was 5 to 6 when airport authorities came to wake me up and ask if I was going to Brisbane. Haha so I ran to the plane and after a minute I was on a way to Brisbane and in a deep sleep again:)
Yeah it was the fastest fligth eve to Brisbane and from Brisbane to Nadi. I arrved to Fiji on afternoon and for the first time in my life somebody was waiting for me at the airport with my name sign! Okay in a sign was written Jero but anyway.. I stayed in Bluewater lodge hostel which is the best hostel I have stayed so far. Really good food, clean and excellent people so completely opposite than the hostel in Cairns. I also had my first cava ceremony w the people in the hostel and it was nice experiance. Cava is a traditional nargotic Fijian drink which actually looks like muddy water and tastes bit weird. I stayed in the hostel for 3 nights as I had to renew my visa to Australia and yeah catch so zzz before Yasawas.
In the third morning I left from Nadi to the Yasawas which is an island group on the west coast of Viti Levu(Mainland). Ferry ride took almost 5hours and I arrived at lunch time to Oarsman's bay lodge. I went to Oarsman's bay as in lonely planet it was said to be one of the best places to do snorkling. Well u can c from the photos that the beach there was amazing and corals really nice ones.
From Oarsman's bay I went to Sunrise Lagoon on the next island. That's the island next to the Blue Lagoon and of course I went to check the Lagoon in the same afternoon. The Blue Lagoon was really nice place again for snorkling but not that good than Oarsman's bay. Anyway it was worth to c and the place I stayed was nice. At the Sunrise Lagoon I had my second and the LAST cava ceremony. Well they shut down the generator at 10 o'clock so basically I didnt had anything else to do than drink cava w locals and a few travellers. After 15 cups I couldnt drink anymore and I dont know what kind a nargotic drink it should be but I couldnt feel anything. In a morning I went to fishing w two englishmen. It was pretty windy and rough sea and after 2hours on the sea I felt the cava and the feeling wasnt the best one at all...
From Sunrise Lagoon I went to Manta Ray just to see those big ass fishes:) In the next morning I went to snorkling w manta Rays and it was awesome. The biggest Manta was more than 2 metres wide and it looked so cool when it passed me less than two metres away! From Manta ray I went to Octopus Resort which was pretty nice but quiet. Yeah I was in a bar at 11pm w two guys and we were the only ones there..
From Octopus I went to the biggest party island on the Yasawas. Well there wasnt big parties but I had good time. so good time that I extend my stay in Beaccomber w one night and had a few beers more w English:) The first day in beachcomber I tryed wakeboarding. It went pretty good as I fell only a couple of times. In the next morning I felt like an elephant had overrun me as wakeboarding was the only kind of sport that I've had in the last month...
After Beachcomber I decided to stay my last night on the closest island from the mainland, South Sea Island. The island was so tiny that I walked around it in 5min! Anyway it was pretty nice and the sunset overthere was amazing. In the last morning I took a ferry around Mamanucas which is another island group in Fiji. On a way I saw the Castaway Island from the movie Castaway, yeah:)
After all my Fijian experience was really good and now just looking for new travels. First I was little bit unsure how's it going to be to travel alone but now I know it is excellent way to travel! I met so many new people and I had really good time on every island. Some of the islands I spent my time w same people who got the same plan as I did and so many unforgettable moments:) Thanx for that:)
Now I'm back on Gold coast for two weeks and then going to Sydney for 4days and then to Honolulu for a week:) Additionally, I already found a buyer for my lovely camper and now I just need a safety certificate to sell it. Going tomorro to garage so all fingers crossed that I'll sell my car tomorro:) More stories again closer to the next trip:)
Winaka! (thanx)
