So, I haven't had the internet for a few days now, but here is everything that I have gotten into:
Tijuana, Mexico - Totally eye opening. Mexico is so poor. The Mexican Border Patrol gave me a hard time when I entered and totally tore my jeep apart earching it, but they let me through. Once I got into Mexico, I didn't stay but for an hour. As soon as I went over the border, my GPS went blank. I was kinda pissed about that because it is supposed to have maps for Mexico loafed into it already. It better have Canada loaded into it. I will have to have that. There was no line for going into Mexico, but an hour-long line for going back into the United States. It was fun, but I probably won't drive into Mexico again.
San Diego - I wanted to try to go to the Zoo, and I got there at 4 o'clock, but the also closed at 4, so didn't get a chance to go. So, I drove around for a bit, grabbed some lunch, and then headed north. San Diego has a cool downtown area, kinda like Frazier Avenue in Chattanooga; a bunch of little shops and cool places to eat.
Laguna Beach - Once I left San Diego, I drove on US 101 up the coast, which brought me into Laguna Beach. It is very very nice there. Very beautiful. The MTV show Laguna Beach really does not justice to how pretty it is there. However, everyone there is very stuck up and ritzy. I still liked it though. I got to catch the sunset on the beach, which was very nice.
Los Angeles - I was suprised with LA. I figured that I would hate it, that the traffic would be suicidal, and it would be nasty. However, It was great. I went to downtown Hollywood, walked around, had breakfast etc. It was great. I went through on Memorial Day, so there was zero traffic, which was awesome. I saw Grauman's Chinese Theater, The Virgin Megastore, the Hollywood hills, etc. It was fun. I also drove by the Playboy Mansion. Hugh was double-booked, so he couldn't see me, so maybe next time.
Malibu - When I was in LA, I bought one of those $2 star maps, so I figured I would drive out to Malibu and see if I could see some celebrity houses. I drove by Adam Sandler's house, Brad and Angelina's House, and Will Smith's house; all of which had huge gates up and you couldn't tell there was even a house inside the gates. It was fun though. Malibu is gorgeous. Very very ritzy though. I saw some amazing cars there. I saw a Lamborghini with a bike rack on the back of it. Haha.
San Francisco - I got to San Fran right when the sun was going down. I kind of liked this city, then I kind of hated it. It is nice and pretty, but it is so crowded and confusing and some parts are totally nasty. Kinda like Atlanta. I drove across the Golden Gate Bridge (which costs $5 to drive across), saw Alcatraz, ate at In-N-Out Burger (delicious) and then headed out. I didn't want to spend too much time here. It wasn't really for me.
Portland - I drove straight from San Francisco to Portland, OR. Portland if very much like a mini-San Fran. Just the same, but smaller. Its not too bad. Nothing special though. Northern California and Southern Oregon are both very beautiful. Nice mountains, lots of trees and streams ... I loved it. In Oregon, there is always cotton floating around through the air, looks as if it is snowing. It is cotton that has blown off of the cottonwood trees in the forest. It is pretty neat to see.
Vancouver, Washington - Well, as soon as I passed over the Washington border, my water pump on my Jeep blew into and my fan belt flew off, so I had to get stay here last night and I am having my Jeep repaired today. Hopefully, it will be fixed by tonight so that I can go ahead and head into Seattle and sleep there tonight.
Anyways, I have covered a lot of land lately. Alaska is getting closer and closer. I am thinking that I will be there on Sunday, or close to it at least. We'll see.
