After leaving Cairns we stopped in Alice Springs, then Adelaide before flying to Kangaroo Island. 

Heather's sister Joyleen and her husband Garry owned and operated holiday units on the island and we had been invited to stay. The island is quite large, and when in the farming areas you could be forgiven for forgetting it is an island, not the mainland.

The name Kangaroo Island to my of thinking is a bit of a misnomer given they are actually wallaby's on the island, but certainly in huge numbers. We enjoyed a day tour of the island with Gary, taking in seal beach (another misnomer given the inhabitants are actually sea lions) and also, this time, the aptly named remarkable rocks.

We enjoyed our visit to Kangaroo Island and it made quite a nice holiday experience.
