We arrived by train to Luxembourg City after several changes at small French railway stations. (We had to wait for one train that broke down and delayed us by several hours).
Luxembourg City is charming, pretty and at just 57klm wide and 82klm long is Europe's third smallest country. The 1,000 year old city is built high on a hill, with remaining historic fortifications to be seen and the skyline is full of turrets and spires.
We spent our time just wandering around taking in the Swiss like scenery, in crisp cool Autumn air.
Footnote: The City of Luxembourg: its Old Quarters and Fortifications are UNESCO World Heritage listed.
