A citadel is a walled city, not to be confused with a castle which is for the ruler and his army. Of course a citadel can combine a castle - clear now? Anyhow this Citadel had moat with bridge, fortified gates, secret entrances, throne room, barracks etc. All in all quite spectacular (as were all the previous ones). The Ancient City Of Aleppo is UNESCO World Heritage listed.
