Went to Shanghai for at least 5 times. The scenery at The Bund is not to be missed. There are 2 sides of views, one at each side of the river. After looking at the scenary at 1 side of the river, there is an underground pass to go to the other side of the river. Alternatively, you may take a taxi. Went to Taipei (free and easy) with university friends. It's a place with plenty of delicious food at the night markets. Scenic places can be found at the northern part of taipei. Shopping wise, I'd prefer other places like US, China or HK.
