It seemed like a go, go, go of a day. Technically this was my last full day in Lisbon. Peter and I leave for Amsterdam in the morning.
We decided to go to Sesimbra today, a small beach town outside of the city. It was a perfect day. We went with Peter's sister so we could use a car to get there. It took about half an hour but the drive to a new destination in a foreign country always goes by quickly as you tend to look at all the scenery along the way. We arrived in Sesimbra and took a stroll along the walk way. We didn't really plan to spend time on the beach. It was just to visit and have lunch. We made our way to a little restaurant (Café Modesto) sat down and ordered some food and drinks. Again, I was adventurous and tried many new foods. I'm not a fish or seafood lover, so I had to mentally prepare myself. The food we had (see photos) were not fishy at all. Peter and his sister are obviously fans of seafood, so I was in good hands. I did enjoy it but it didn't win me over. Maybe the more I try the more I will enjoy it. We headed back and dropped his sister off and rested up a little before heading out to Lisbon again to check out the Castelo de S. Jorge.
We headed to the castle. It was quite the hike up the windy, hilly narrow roads. The castle itself was not open at night so we did not go inside. Regardless it was a great site to see in the evening.
Time to pack up and get ready for tomorrow's adventure in Amsterdam!
