Getting a tuk-tuk to the bus station we set about getting a ticket. Asking for a ticket to Thaton, got confused looks. Eventually he got what I was asking for and said we were at the wrong bus station. Didn't know there was two! So another tuk-tuk ride to the right station. Here we asked for a ticket to Thaton, still confused looks. Then "Ta Tun." I had been emphasising the hiatch too much, or just full stop. The bus was okay, and the window pulled up very high, so at least there was a good breeze. Nearing the end of our journey up on the twisting mountain roads, it heaved it down. From any window you could only see about 5m or less visibility. The bus driver did well, fair play to the lad. Getting off at the terminus, we tried to get our bearings. Finally fnding a place mentioned in the guidebook and grabbed a room here. We went for a wander, but it was pitch black no street lights so we headed back for dinner. Tomorrow will try and book the boat ride from here to Chiang Rai.
