With Sanne bashing away on our door we weerily awoke. Agreeing to meet up in half an hours time, we showered and compared our obtuse dreams, which seemed to be based around Laos type events. Sanne and Johannas bus was setting off at 12ish, so we headed off for our last meal together. With a choce of breakfasts from all corners of the globe - OZ, UK, USA, Japan etc. For the first time on our travels the rain fell at an inconvinent time. So getting a bit wet we wandered around trying to find a memory stick... Then the emotional time, time to say goodbye to our two favourite girls. After travelling around with them for a good 10 days or so, it was a tearjerking occasion. There maybe chances of seeing them elsewhere as we are still on similar routes, but still. Just Laurence and I for the first time in ages - we set off and grabbed an Indian curry, got our bus ticket to Pakse and sat around in a restaurant drinking copious amounts of caffine based drinks until 7pm came around. Bumping into Teddy a few times, the little Dutch rascal is everywhere!
Not feeling particulary well (maybe some dodgy beer the night before) - we got onto our bus - a sleeper bus. The first time we had got such a thing. Our "beds" were at the back of the bus. Above the engine. Headed room non-existant. With an extra two beds. It was a bit rubbish so we stood in the corridor and made some more Dutch friends ?Leonie? and ?Vhiker? (im unsure how to spell their names). We didn't have the best seats, but at least we had four beds for the two of us. 8pm came, the time of departure. 8:30pm came, two Laos men came on board, walked to the back... So we have no room. We got in, so did they - crammed in like sardines. They were nice enough and gave Laurence and me a beer each. One guy asked if I knew any Lao, I tried my words I had learnt to him, but he didn't have a clue what I was saying! Beer is quite hard to drink laying down, so we got up and stood in the corridor. They turned off all the lights and it was pitch black. Getting out our mystery baguettes Laurence had bought from a street vendor, we tucked in. All sorts of flavours and some odd hairy textures, hmmm. We chatted away to the Dutchees for a while then headed to "sleep."
