Hey everyone, whats going on?, hope your all good and well? Managed to get myself to a little indo island that goes by the name of Bali, this place is just carnage!, its like little Australia really, but great fun.I arrived here at midnight, and that must be the worst time to arrive anywhere, especialy if you haven't made any arrangements, even the prepaid taxi don't have a fixed rate, told one of the dudes to take me to some area which is suppose to be decent, but he thought it would be a better plan to drive around the airport for a little while and then drop me off in the middle of a market, then tell me that there is a place he knows about, that had everything from tv to hot water!, souned good, but faaa it was pricey, so jumped out the cab and told him where he could go, sukka evenwanted more money for being out so late, least hes got a job..... he he heEnded up at this really cosy place about 5 min from the beach and good surf pretty much every day, did a bit of touring on a moped for a while, and waited for Dave to get here from UK, checked out loads of the island and did a couple divesfirst was a wrek dive, these guys were terrible at organizing gear, they gave me a wetsuit that looked like the lastperson in it was victim shot in the leg by a shotgun.... or even a shark bite (du du, du du, du du du du du du - jaws sound track),To be honest I blame Dave!, sorry boet, but you can take the heat on that, its all because of your antics, and leading yourolder brother astray the evening before.... MONKEY! so besides the not fantastic visibility, the leak from my regulator (mouth piece), the headache and having to dodge wreck pillars and rusty stuff, was a pretty cool dive. Was pretty good toget out into the water and have a dive again even though my 'buddy' ambushed me and pulled off my mask, nice bru, veryclever! couple days later we headed west, to Medewi to a good surf spot which totaly transforms when the tide comes in, and its a goodslow wave and not so crowded. And there was some chap who was taking pics of everyone on the waves so he got a coupleof us. Damn I look good! felt like doing anther dive so headed a bit further north but left at like 05:30, still dark, to try and get another dive in but it was cold man, sheweeee! had to stop and grab something from my bag and droppedmy sunnies and both the lenses fell out.... nice, great start to the day, sun isn't even up yet!We got a sweet deal with some pearl farmers though, seriously, these guys have like vineyards underwater and harvest pearls! All the equipment was almost new and we got this boat to ourselves, with a cool box (of soft drinks) got in the waterand before long where down 10m deeper than we where suppose to be, and ended up at 30 meters. The guides computer/ depth gauge thingy had run outof battery and he was just merely swimming along, man it was pretty nuts! even getting out, into the boat was hairy, cos they left the propellers on and the current was pushing us to the back of the boat, escaped that one too, running outof lives!Briefly spoke to to Kelly Slater on the beach this afternoon, well actually it went a bit like this:"Kelly could we get a picture?""I don't really feel like it right now guys""Okay, get stuffed then!", just kidding... it was much more malicious than that, na!!!App. after successfully managing to get Dave to the airport a few days ago, he did a really good job of sleeping throughall boarding calls and missed his flight, good work Dave!I'm enjoying my last few days here in bali before I head out to Australia. I'm going to be starting a 1 year working visa there as soon as I arrive,20 August, I've been trying to get myself into the working for a living frame of mind, and its not that easy!be good everyone, hope you like the pictures.Peace,
Tommo out!
