Let me just start by saying how nice it was to travel with Quantas. Great service, much better in-flight entertainment than other airlines and generally just a pleasant flight.

As for Cairns, it's been a busy few days almost entirely occupied by learning to dive. The instructors were good, so when we got out to the reef we could concentrate on the important bit - seeing all that amazing marine life. We were especially lucky on the morning of the last day - in one dive we saw two sharks, two rays and a couple of turtles, and a host of colourful others. Photos will follow!

Next up: a big night on the town tonight, than a 6:45 am start tomorrow to go to Cape Tribulation.
