Hi

we are now in Koh Samui and the weather is so hot. Our first stop was lamui beach where we stopped for 2 nights. It was so quite there and our favourite place was a sports bar called 'the outback', an aussie bar wherewe watched some footy and the great yorkshire run from sheffield - how randomfor an aussie bar.

We decided to moveto the other beach ' chaweng' - which is the main place on the island. We are stopping in a hotel which is really good and funky. Altho its on the southern end of beach so we have to walk for ages to get to the main side. but there are still shops and bars everywhere.

We have been on chaweng beach for 3 days and we think we will stop here another 3 days till its time to take the mamoth journey down to Kuala Lumpur. We are going to go to Koh Phan nang on a day trip to see the island - decided not to move there because we are sick of moving and just wanted to stop somewhere for a week!

Today we have been on a tour of the island - which included the big budda - where i got shouted at for letting tom take a pic of me stood next to the budda beacuse i was wearing 'unpolite' clothing (a dress!), but tom could have his pic taken. Also saw a mumiffied monk which has been dead 30 years, a monkey show which was not good beacuse it was so cruel, Namuang Waterfall - where we had to trek thru jungle to see. Grandmother and grandfather rocks on a really nice clear beach and finally the viewpoint of the whole island.

2mz we are hoping for less clouds so we can work on our tan.
