We have been in Koh Phi Phi for 5 days now! such a beautiful place. This is the busiest place we have been so far (apart from Bangkok) - we were stuck in a room all nit with a mozzie and kel got bit to death and has huge bites all on her legs (they kept tasting me but didnt like my blood).
There are beach parties every nit and we have been to a couple of them - cheap vodka buckets (as seen in the pictures!!).
We have tried to climb up to the viewpoint on the island - which has a million steps and has the most amazing views all accross the island. There are 3 stages to the climb and we only got to the first one beacause it was too hot - we stupidly did the climb at mid day!! Some of the steps are near vertical - but the view are worth it!
Yesterday we went on a long tail boat trip to some of the small islands near by - but as there had just been flash monsoon weather the sea was so rough - the boat nearly flipped over a few times - quite scary - everyone got flung out of their seats and some people were laying clinging to the wooden beams of the boat floor! waves kept crashing in through the sides and we were soaking and couoldnt see beacuse of all the sea salt in our eyes! Good times! The first place was called 'Bamboo island' which was ok but nothing special - then we stopped in few places for snorkling with the colourful fishys, then we got to monkey island (i was expecting a giant monkey sitting on a throne rulling over the island) - but there were loads of little crazy monkeys everywhere and we fed them pinapple and one monkey wanted a scarf off a women near by but she wouldnt let him have it so a few more came and then a few more and they were all trying to snatch it off her and she was waving it about at them but that just made them even more crazy and they were all screaching in monkey language at her! so funny!! (not for the lady with the scarf obviously!). I had a similar exoeriance with a giant monkey who looked me dead in the eye and said 'i want that whole pinapple you have' - so i gave the pinapple to kel and she fed little peices to other monkeys while the giant monkey sulked off.
The last stop was Maya bay - the beach where the beach was filmed. We got there quite late in the day beacuse we were meant to be seeing the sunset but beacuse of the monsoon it was too cloudy - but it was still beautiful. Clear white sands and water - the best beach so far. To get to the bay we had to climb through one of the smallest caves iv ever seen with crabs everywhere - it was fun tho! dont know how we got through the whole day without getting the camera wet cause the cave was full of water too. We said a prayer and set off on the boat journey back - everyone (except 2 - 15 people,13 lifejackets - we had to fight for ours!) were wearing life jackets as we all thought theres no way we can get back without tipping over - but by some good grace we got back safe but very very wet and seasalty.
2mz we are getting the boat (a proper one) to Phuket.
Hope everyone is ok back home! leave us messages with updates of whats happening!
love Tom & Kel xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
