Hi everyone

Our first full day in thailand. We arrived last night after a 12 hr flight. The flight was delayed about 1 1/2 hrs due to a passenger being lost so thery had to go and take his bags off the airplane. The flight was ok and we had our own personal TVs and supper and breakfast. We both managed to get a couple hrs sleep and then we arrived into Bangkok airport about 4.30 local time. We grabbed our bags - which were first off the carrageway for once and headed outside to get a taxi to our hotel. The driving was crazy and was a free for all. 8 lanes of traffic trying to all fit into 3 lanes!! Once we arrived at the hotel (wihch was ok!) we got a quick wash and dumped our bags and headed out to find a tuk tuk man to take us to khao san road. My first experiance of tuk tuk but kel has been in them before. Good times!!

When we arrived at khao san road its just what you expect - noisy humid / full of bars and stalls selling anything and everything you could want. i am already eyeing up all the latest cds / dvds but i have to wait till we leave thailand before i fill my backpack with them!

We had some tea (green and red curry and some beers) and looked around the stalls taking it all in. It was so humid and dusty. but full of life!

Headed back to hotel to try and get some sleep - but we didnt get to sleep till 4 because the worlds biggest cockrel was outside our window who delighted in making the loudest noise every hour. finally got a few hours sleep but missed our alarm at 8 and woke up at 10.15 so we missed breakfast.

First full day - headed to another tuk tuk man to go to grand palace and tour of giant budd and other temples (lots of orange monks about - who are sacred and if women touch them they die or something!).

just stopped for some food and to update our plog,

2nit we plan to go to thai boxing and 2mz we are heading to Kanchanburi on the bus where we will update you from there!
