The taxi picked me up at 4:30 and we set off to look for a good looking yoga teacher destined from Dharamsala. All we knew was that the bus company was Laxmi and that it was coming to Kashmiri gate. Easy. No, Kashmiri gate was huge and hundreds of buses stopped there! After calling a few people and speaking to a few tuktuk drivers, the taxi driver nailed it, or so we hoped. We found the area that the bus would arrive. We waited for an hour or so with all the tuktuk drivers and the flies before the first few buses started arriving. Eventually, I found my girl - looking a little tired after her overnight journey. We went back to the hotel for a curry breakfast then did some difficult negotiating for what turned out to be an expensive taxi to Jaipur. 5 hours later and we reached Jaipur after a quick stop for a Lassi on the way. We checked into the Zostel hostel and went to the Jaipur palace for a wonder the some excellent local food in a little place at the side of the road. My first experience of paneer was delicious. In the evening we met some boys from Leeds and went for dinner at the top of a local hotel for some Dahl and more curry. After some more tuktuk negotiations, the four of us headed to the light show at the Red Fort. We joked on the way that there might be a power cut and sure enough, as we got there, the lights went out - India style. Eventually they got the lights back on and we watched a light (and lengthy Indian history) show. We met our tuktuk driver and headed back to the hostel.
