Well after a short-ish flight, we arrived in Lima, and waited for the arrival of Andy, who joined us the next day. So after that we had a week in Lima, doing various amounts of nothing, eating drinking and sleeping. Although during this week we did manage to see the Changing of the Guard at The Government Palace, and the massive cathedral, aswell as hang out in the park in the centre of Lima, for one day. Went to a Casino, vegas style, to throw some craps for a while and play some blackjack, which was incredibly fun.
Apart from that we were staying in an awesoem suburb called Miraflores, which was based around two central parks, and had an extremely Europena feel to it, so most day were spent over a couple of bottles of wine sitting in a parkside cafe contemplating our next move.
Finally when we mustered up the strength to leave we headed out to Huacachina, a deser oasis surrounded by sand dunes, where we have just arrived. Hoping to do some sandboarding, dune buggying and swim in the oasis lagoon for 4 or 5 days before heading off to Cuzco to finally start our attack of Machu Pichu.
