Well we stayed in Antigua in Guatemala for another 2 nights, played a game of football against the locals, won of course, and then headed off for Nicaragua, via one night stop in in San Salvador. We arrived in Managua, Pretty much a shanty town (even though it is the capital) full of crooks, taxi drivers and drug dealers, it is quite possibly the biggest hole ever, and immediately left for Granada hoping it would be slightly more enjoyable. We stayed at a pretty cool hostal in Granada met some people exchanged travel stories and tips over some beers, pretty much the usual. We spent two days in Granada, looking a the lake and at Ometepe (and island made of two volcanoes in the middle of lake nicaragua) which we unfortunately didn't have time to experience first hand, and trying Flor de Caña, nicaraguas finest rum which indeed is very nice.
After that we headed to San Juan del Sur, a surf town in the south on the pacific coast. After a few days surfing alot of days of doing nothing on a beach, we realised we had been held up there for 8 days instead of the 4 we planned, needless to say Simon went to Costa Rica and on to Panama, whilst i stayed for an extra day of surfing to catch him up later.
