We have just got back from Ko Chang. We stayed there 4 nights and had a really good time. We stayed in a bungalow, with a big balcony over the lagoon - complete with a hamock and sun loungers, all just a stones throw from a whiteish sandy beach. The water is really warm, so its really nice to swim. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the beach as it was really quiet.
We did an elephant trek for over an hour in the jungle of the islands interior. We also got to swim with the elephants and scrub them while we sat on their backs. They are so big, its a bit scary swimming up to them but they are very friendly really. The elephant even sprayed us with water with his trunk while we were sat on him. We also got to feed them bananas which they gobble up skin and all.
We tried some different food on the island, Tish ate poo and I ate Bass which were both really tasty! We had a yum desert with sticky rice cooked in bamboo. Lots of banana fritters. Oh by the way poo is crab in Thai.
To add to the relaxing mood we thought we'd try out a Thai massage. It wasn't really that relaxing, actually a bit painful at times. They are so small but they are strong when they are pushing and pulling you around. We both enjoyed it though.
Our guesthouse was called Blue Lagoon and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was really nice and we got dressed up for our last night on the island and treated ourselves to a couple of delicious curries from there.
We are missing the island life already.. but we are only in Bangkok over night then leave early to go to Khao Yai national park.
