Hi everyone!
The first couple of weeks of having a real grownup job are behind me. I am getting used to the routine of getting up early at 6.30, get the kids ready, drive them to school, drive to work, enjoy being around adults and doing useful things (while earning money of course), drive back home. pick up the kids again, take them to which ever afterschool activity they have on that day, then cook or help out with dinner, clean up the kitchen and by 8.30pm I try to go to my room to relax and sleep!
I really like my job at Raine&Horne. I have gotten to know my colleagues a little bit better and things are starting to make sense! :) I love how I am involved in the entire process of selling a property. Literally from start to finish and doing some follow-ups after something has sold. Heidi, the sales agents who is teaching me most things, has done an incredible job explaining everything to me and showing me how to do all the things I need to do! It is very different from teaching, especially because when I get home, I don't have to worry about preparing lessons for the next day or anything. What is done is done and what isn't can be done the next day. If you want to check out what we do or see the amazing work I am doing you can check out the website of Raine&Horne! http://www.realestate.com.au/buy/by-xrhcro/list-1
My weekends have gotten busier as well. I am finally finding my way into a social life! I have been hanging out more with some of the Dutch au pairs, e.g. I went to the Australian museum with Marlou on a Saturday which was great! I loved it! And I don't usually like museums all that much. Yesterday we had another great family B-day party, It was Gab's 40th and since she now is one of my colleagues as well as 'family' I got to sing 'Happy Birthday' twice and eat cake twice! The party was a lot of fun, although at 1am I was really tired and just needed to go home and sleep. I am sure some other family members stayed a lot later and danced until the early morning!
This weekend it is the famous gay and lesbian mardi gras parade in Sydney. It is a huge parade with lots of floats and lots of 'weird' going on. According to everyonevI spoke with it is a must see! So this afternoon I am meeting up with some other au pairs, not the Dutch ones because they went to Melbourne for the weekend, and I'll also be seeing Niels again. A guy who was in my class in the first year of high school. We already met up a couple of weeks ago when he was in Sydney. In the meanwhile he has been travelling and surfing a.k.a. living the good life. I am really curious to see what the parade will be like tonight and hopefully the rain will clear!

PS: the picture is a view from the car, the skyline of Sydney, which is what I see every morning while bringing the kids to school. How great is that?!

tony Ha Tine, De vakantie is nu blijkbaar voorbij.
T. Hilde
