Day 23 - Wed 11 April - Wanaka to Cromwell It was time to head towards Queenstown. Rob and I got some good foreshore photos while the guys were at the dump station. It was a shortish drive today. The good weather is still with us thank goodness. The NZMCA Park in Cromwell was not full so there was room for us to park there which is a quiet spot yet handy to the town. We can stay here 3 nights.

Day 22 - Tue 10 April - Wanaka We had a morning of baking because our tins were empty and our vans smelt heavenly after that! Wilkie worked on his gas heater and got it going. Just as well as the snow covers the mountain around Wanaka this morning. After lunch we went to check out the op shops for warm clothes. The cupboards got a topup with groceries too. Day 21 - Mon 9 April - Lake Wardell to Wanaka It was cooler this morning as we set off. We noted new dairy farms up in the high country. Such a contrast to the sheep stations. Huge irrigators stretching across huge paddocks and big sheds for the cows versus irrigation ditches and the station's own water reservoir to feed them. Day 20 - Sun 8 April -Timaru to Lake Wardell There is snow forecast Tues and Wed for the mountain passes we have to go over so we have decided to get to Wanaka by Monday and hunker down there for a few days. Aileen came out for morning tea and after lunch we hooked up. We left Timaru about 1.40pm and had a great run inland and after a couple of photos stops at Tekapo and Pukaki made it to Lake Wardell. Day 19 - Sat 7 April - Geraldine to Timaru Our plan is to go down to Timaru for a couple of days catching up with family. Rob and Wilk are there so will join them at Phar Lap Racecourse. In the afternoon we went into Aileen's and stayed for dinner. Lovely to see them before they move house. We'll be here till Monday
