Day 5. So, today I woke up with a bloody cold. Day 4. Today started with another big, fat, American-chain breakfast. This time, IHOP! Eggs, bacon, maple syrup and pancakes - the only way to eat brekkie! It was so gut busting...thankfully, we walked it off in the amazing Central Park. You all probably appreciate this already, but it is SO big! We started exploring at the reservoir, which is over 4 miles in circumference, and then wended our way past Belvedere Castle, down through the wooded Ramble, had a walk...

Day 2. AMAZING! I love this city. We woke up incredibly early, and decided to go for an All-American breakfast at...Denny's! SO much food. But it was bloody great. From there we waddled on to Battery Park to get our ferry to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. I'd pre-booked our tickets, and thank God I had as the queue (or LINE!) for tickets was colossal...but we casually sauntered past everyone, mentally triumphantly flicking them the Vs, went through ...

Day 3. Anniversary! Today started DREADFULLY early, as the NYC Five Boro cycle marathon was on and the starting line was literally outside our window. 32000 cyclists started lining up from about 6am, and from 7 a warm up guy starting bellowing from the loudest sound system in the world. They then blasted out New York New York, Empire State of Mind - all the classics! It was So. Loud. This in turn woke up the chatty Kathys next door, who started screeching nonsen...

Day 1. So, we have arrived in New York City! How exciting! After a v comfortable flight (I slept through two films...) we arrived an HOUR EARLY (huzzah!) and then stood in a queue at border control for an hour and a half (boooo...)
