We restarted our journey with a 6 hour bus which took us to Seville. We reached Seville at around 2pm with the temperature being up at 35degrees, this may seem luxurious by itself but if you were to then add the weight of a tramping pack, a day bag in front, with a few kilometres walk to our hostel along with a full oversized set of hair you soon get the picture of what seemed like a few k turned into a reasonable hike. With a quick check in and a rest we then we're off again. We visited one of the main squares which wasn't much so we then took a walk to the Metropol parasol which is said to be one of the largest wooden structures in the world. As we had some pictures and ice cream we were then headed back to the hostel with a stop at a supermarket for some groceries on the way.
With a stunner sleep we were up, showered and ready to head out a bit before 10am. With our ticket for the Real Alcázar we had some time to kill. So we visited a memorial to Christopher Columbus and then the Plaza de España which was quite a site. After some fair amount of walking around we had to visit an information centre to see where the entrance for the Real Alcázar was, as we were pointed in the right direction we stumbled on the queue which was absolutely ridiculously long, stretching as far as the eye could see. Luckily for us I had once again been prepared and had booked two tickets many days before. We walked straight through the large queue into another aisle which was completely empty we casually strolled past everyone in the large queue straight up to the ticket scanner checked our bags and were in all in under a minute. We grabbed our audio guides and were on our way. We spent nearly two hours in and around the palace mainly trying to recreate the shots that were used in game of thrones, but also admiring the beauty of the palace with the huge gardens and detailed tiles. We had some amusement as we a quick bite and drink at a cafe due to an Asian couple who were playing with two peahens. The heat had then finally got to us and we were headed back to the hostel to have some more lunch and relax in our nicely air conditioned room.
