06/06/2005 : Hooray!! We're finally here in Fiji. We arrived at 1pm, however we havent seen the sun yet. The humidity is quite bad though but we've got a fan in our room so we should be alright. The hotel where we are staying is quite nice. It isnt really in the town centre though so we arent going to really venture out on our own as it doesnt seem to be that safe. Hopefully we are going to be booking a tour of the surrounding islands tomorrow for later in the week but our main focus for this part of our trip is to get as brown as possible and take in the amazing scenery! We hope everyone back home is alright, take care, K & M x x 11/06/2005 : Hi everyone. We are having a great time here in Fiji. The weather isnt quite what we expected (its rained for the last couple of days non stop!) but apparantly its going to brighten up in the next day or two. Today we went on a day trip to the South Sea Island. Its a little island about 30 mins from the mainland and its beautiful. Its like a little tropical paradise. The island itself isnt very big (you can walk all the way around it in about 7 mins!) but its got clear blue waters and tons of wildlife and sealife that hasnt been affected by pollution. We had a bit of a scare though when we were walking around. We saw a snake!!!! Not sure what type it was or even if it was poisonous, but Monica nearly trod on it and Karen nearly had a heart attack! We would have taken a photo but we were too busy running away screaming!! We went on a semi-submersible submarine and had a look at all of the coral and sealife that lives around the island. Some of it has been there for 10,000 years - pretty amazing! We then went on a cruise around the nearest islands to the Fiji mainland called the Mamanuca Islands. It was really interesting to see them all. There are about 36 islands in all but as it was free booze for all guests who visited the South Sea Island, and we never say no to free booze!,we felt a bit queezy on the boat trip back! We are just going to spend the rest of our stay here soaking up the sun (when it appears!) and enjoying the stunning scenery and friendly atmosphere that Fiji has. Hope you are all well, take care, K & M x x 14/06/05 - Hi everyone, well our final day in fiji has arrived! Very sad indeed as the weather has been lovely the last few days! We're trying to pass some time before i flight so we're in Nadi town having a nosy around the shops. We'll write once we're settled in LA and we'll put our new photos on the site soon.
