A hop, step and a jump (1 hr flight) from Boston to Toronto (take 2). Our tour accommodation is mainly at Marriott hotels which is so disappointing. Not! The Marriott here in Toronto is stunning.
So we were out and about in a different area of Toronto than when we were here 5 days ago searching for the Christmas shop (which we found by ourselves) and Kim continued her second tradition of collecting Christmas tree decorations from each country/ location visited. They are great reminders of our travels each Christmas and they are easy (and small) to pack.
Often when travelling (and this is what I love about travelling) you experience something totally unexpected and we had one such experience this afternoon when we stumbled across this huge food market in the centre of Toronto called 'Loblaws'. This place is a giant food hall, come diner, come patisserie, supermarket, green grocer, delicatessen, coffee shop and it also serves alcohol. We had a lovely dinner there (avoiding restaurants where we have to calculate tips) in this huge buzzing food market. And it has a conveyor which will transport full shopping trolleys down to the car park adjacent to the people escalator. A fabulous idea! And then we started chatting with a number of people there including a lovely Jamaican woman with whom we talked for ages and who is just starting out as an entertainer after years of being an agent. We'll follow her career with interest!
