Monday 11 April
Paddington
4-20C
Cloudy and rain
We woke up at a leisurely hour this morning but before 9.30 as they finish serving breaky by then. After breakfast we walked to Paddington station to catch the underground to Waterloo as we wanted to go on the London Eye. When we were at Paddington station we bumped into 2 ladies who were on the tour with us. They're staying in a hotel just around the corner from us and they were heading off to Harrods. One of the ladies, Maureen, is going home to Bendigo (she actually doesn't live there anymore but her family's there and she visits every 4 months) tonight as her Mum's dying which is really sad. Her friend Jillian is continuing travelling and will arrive back in Oz the same day we do. So after saying our goodbyes we caught the train and arrived at Waterloo and made our way to the Eye. It was pretty busy and the queue was really long but we only had to wait about 15 minutes before we hopped into a pod. The views were amazing and l reckon we were up there for nearly half an hour. After that experience we hopped back onto the train and headed back to Paddington. I was worn out so just rested for the afternoon. Mum went for a walk and saw the Princess Dianna memorial which she said was like a cascade. She also went to the hotel where Jillian's staying but she wasn't in. It started raining this afternoon and it got quite cold. We had soup for tea and were in bed before 9.30.
