Sunday 24 April - Easter Sunday
8-20C
Partly cloudy
Good bye Sorrento, with it's villas nestled in the hills along the shoreline of the Mediterranean sea.We had a long drive today, 560k, with a stop at Orvieto to visit the black basalt and yellow limestone, Italian gothic cathedral which was just ok but nothing to write home about. There was an entrance fee which mum and l refused to pay and instead just looked at the church from the foyer.Personally l think we could have forgone this stop altogether and spent more time in Florence which is where we're headed.First though we drove through the Tuscany region which was beautiful, green, green hills and colorful houses nestled amongst them.Arrived in Florence around 5.30.After settling into our hotel we went to have a look for somewhere we could have dinner, however being Easter Sunday there wasn't much open so we ended up having dinner at the hotel with a few others that are on the tour.

judy stanley So glad you're enjoying Italy. Tuscanny & Fiorenze were 2 of my favourites. Hope you're enjoying the food too. We found the cake for breakfast interesting! Love Jude xx
