The 6 weeks in Tioman flew by and we had the most awesome time: Anton become a pro at getting down coconuts from palm trees and chopping stuff with a giant machete: we're pretty decent at surfing now and and can catch waves on our own. Monika hasn't been bitten by anything in over a month (!!!): and a lot of new friendly faces that'll stick for a long time...Amazing time and after a lot of sad good-byes we set off to explore the rest of Malaysia.

The start has been more than one could expect: spent the 1st night at princess Izan's (our boss at Beach Shack) house and met her family on their huge property that even hosts a casino. Exciting..

Afterwards we set course for the Eastern coast, Pulau Kapas island. Lazy atmosphere under palm trees that Monika decided to liven up with a random eye infection. She walked around like a one-eyed-bandit, red and swollen in the face. That's about the most exciting that's happened there.

And then it was the Perhentian islands' turn. In a true backpacker style we chose the cheapest bus ticket we could get. How wrong a decision that was! A 130km trip took us 2,5 hours in a carcass of a bus, wobbly seats, local air conditioning (broken windows), doors that wouldn't close and a bus driver with a cigarette in his mouth doing full throttle on one-lane roads. We would have prayed if we didn't have to hold on.

And here we are now: white sand, turquose water, sea turtles, baby sharks, corals, +32 at night... and they even show football here! (Anton hasn't left the bar in 2 days now) !!! We'll hang here for a while, suck in the sun and the lazyness before setting off for the rest of crazy Malaysia.
