Hello all!
Since the last time we spoke we've been so busy hence the lack of blogs lately. We found a natural slide at Mount Cougal National park which Ryan loved! I was photographer :-( We have also visited and had selfies on most of the lovely beaches along the Gold Coast including sun rise beach walks and coffees. We've had some really hot days lately.. not looking forward to the tan lines around my cast lol! and we have also been enjoying the public free BBQ's. Ryan has been absolutely amazing, my fiance ..wow still not use to saying that! He has been helping me out with everything and comforting me when the pain relief has worn off. He's a keeper.
One of our saturday night treats included sharing a jug of Pimms at a rooftop cocktail bar right around the corner from where we have been staying. Meg's favourite day was meeting Mr. Koala at Curumbin Sanctuary, unfortunately Meg couldnt hold the Koala due to her hand although it was probably for the best as they weigh a tonne and stick their claws right in! I came away bleeding. He was cute though. We managed to feed the Kangaroos, one of which who had a baby kangaroo in its pouch which was so adorable. We also saw a giant crocodile which was insane! It was a lovely and not to expensive day out as we got them half price!
On another day, Our hosts Chris and Colleen took us to Killarney Glen which would you believe it, is a heart shaped swimming hole with massive heights for us, well me to jump in. However when we arrived it was closed so we ended up taking a detour to another spectacular look out at Binna Burra which overlooked the rainforest for as far as you could see! So was well worth the drive and lovely to spend time with them as we have a lot in common and look up to be as successful as them that young. They have a beautiful home, Colleen is an owner of a Pharmacy and Chris is a police officer, they have a lush brand new BMW and are into health and fitness and are always out at the beach. So we hope to be as successful as them.
We've been for a few more hikes to some beautiful waterfalls which has never been a dissapointment and enjoyed some relaxation at Chris and Colleen's lovely home whilst also preparing our new station wagon for our journey up the east coast soon. We have fixed fairy lights all around the back end of the car, bought candles, lots of mozzy ones to keep them away from me! They dont like Ryan but they'll eat me alive! We've also got our family picture of you all in the back of our car for us always to see so weve been taking you with us, we've bought bedding a funky cushion to jazz it up and a pretty deam catcher. Not including our pixies from Auntie Karen and little bear from Mumma sazza.
One Saturday evening we went to Miami Marketta which is a market place full of good live music, boutique shops full of nice smelling candles, bath bombs and lovely jewellery, lots of market foods, amazing cocktails and every type of icecream, donut, sweets you could think of. We were in heaven, it was lovely to spend some time together in such a good atmosphere with happy, friendly, interesting people from such a diverse range of the world. That was our last weekend in Palm Beach so it was abit of a celebration for leaving and a bit of fun before the upcoming hospital appoitment on the Monday.
Monday morning 29th May(our two year anniversary) we said our farewells to Chris and Colleen and got to the hospital for 10:10am and would you believe an xray, a CT scan, lots of waiting, lots of money on the car park and 4 hours later we were out of there with NO CAST! WOOHOO! Just a strap for 2 ish weeks depending on the recovery. Fab news, we were out of there and now on our way to Brisbane for a couple nights in our next Air Bnb.
We arrived at our Air Bnb around 4 and i jumped straight in the shower and cleaned my arm which was the best feeling ever. We got a bottle of wine got dressed up, I managed to do my hair myself, Ryan was looking handsome and we headed down to South bank river in Brisbane city to find a nice italian along the river. And we did just that. We had a lovely pizza and enjoyed a Strawberry Dacquiri cocktail with our meal and spent some quality time together celebrating my arm and our anniversary, we finished our evening with a walk along the river to find the famous Brisbane sign and sat out on our balcony watching the stars.
Our Last day in Brisbane we headed to Southbank Lagoon which is a man made beach right in the middle of the city. Would you believe.. it was amazing. It was a lovely hot day, we caught a tan and enjoyed the music nearby from one of the local bars.
So our very short time in Brisbane was perfect and it was now for our next adventure.
Our next plan! We have completed our station wagon perfecting it to make it our new home. Abit of a difference to what weve been use to lately but we were up for it and arent we so glad. Our road trip started in Brisbane on the 31/05 and we plan to travel up the east coast all the way up to Cape Tripulation - Daintree Rainforest and potenitally the Northern Territory. So far it has been amazing, getting up early, finding outdoor showers, sleeping in the car which doesnt sound appealing but we have made it so cosy its fab, cooking all our meals on the camping stoves and embracing no makeup, salty hair and the camper basic lifestyle. Its been amazing. Our first 5 nights in our station wagon were in the Sunshine Coast.. we found a free campsite near to the centre of all there is to explore and had this as our base which was perfect! Other than the crazy amount of mosquitos about! We explored Kings Beach which had a beautiful seawater pool, Dicky Beach where we have enjoyed some morning runs along the beach, Currimindi Beach where we enjoyed pizza hut at sunset, Bulcock Beach where weve enjoyed some amazing coffee and the views and the beautiful Glass House Mountains. We climbed Mount Ngungun which was 253ft from sea level- the views were incredible and the climb was fun! We found another mountain to climb Mount Coolum 207ft from sea level and once again the views were amazing and the humidity was unreal. Sunshine Coast has not stopped amazing us, we found Gardner falls which is a small yet stunning waterfall where Ryan found a rope swing over the lake which was a great laugh! I cant wait to have a go whne my hands heeled! Our time and exploring at Sunny Coast was amazing and we ticked all our bucket list boxes so now weve moved up the coast abit more to Noosa.
Beautiful Beautiful Noosa. Our new favourite place weve only been here a day already but OMG its like paradise. We absolutely love it, today we visted Noosa National Park and did the 7.8 mile coastal track and i cannot put into words how amazing today has been. Its been unreal finding beaches along the way, hidden spots, amazing views, stunning crystal clear waters, seeing a turtle so close to shore, seeing a goanna lizard! huge! Which i thought was a baby croc at first.. we were making tuna wraps for lunch in the car park and it started heading towards us escaping the bushes! Luckily it changed its mind! haha.
Last but not least along our coastal track today we found a fairy pool in between the rock pools. A crystal clear pool just of the ocean. What an unforgettable experience, we enjoyed swimming whilst the fish were swimming between our feet and the sun was beating down on us. A life time memory that we will neevr forget, i've never seen so much beauty and to experience it with someone i love was even more amazing. Once you see pictures you'll get just an idea of how heavenly it was. We are currently staying for 3 nights in an Air Bnb here in Noosa just to be able to plan more of our adventures up the coast to stay organised, to enjoy a hot shower, a good nights sleep and abit of relaxation before we go back to the station wagon we call home for now. Our upcoming plans so far are to return to Noosa national park to explore the beaches so more and hopefully find some more turtles and make more memories then this weekend we are meeting up with Ryans Primary School friend who now lives out here. She is called Victoria and her and her boyfriend and friends are meeting us on the beach for breakfast and then they are taking us in their 4WD to Double Island point! We can't wait! It will be 4WD on the miles of stunning beaches until we reach the famous shipwreck on Teewah Beach! ahhhh exciting! Then after this weekends exploring with them we intend to plan something amazing for Fraser Island! So lots and lots of excting things happen, i hope you've all enjoyed reading what weve been getting up to! Sorry its abit delayed, we will keep you all up to date when we can!
Love you all, missing you all, thinking about you all everyday.
Ryan and Meg
