The past few days have been an up and down emotional one. In Hanoi I found myself feeling overly sensitive and moody but I'm completely fine now :).
We're finally in Laos! - currently on THE MOST bumpy and uncomfortable four hour bus ride from the country's capital, Vientiane to Vang Vieng. We were only in Vientiane overnight so I didn't really see much other than what I recall a golden temple, a second temple type place with lots of buddhist statues, an Arc De Triomphe look-a-like momuemt (pardon my ignorance) and a centre/museum type place, 'COPE' which makes prosthetics - all on our rushed tuc tuc tour.
I learnt a little more about Laos in terms of war facts at COPE such as: it being the largest hit place during the Vietnamese war and that cluster bombs are still planted around villages- putting the Laotian people at huge risk. It was quite a chilling and moving experience especially the short movie they had us watch in one of their cinema rooms- I was however, fighting sleeping. the dark room and reclining seats were too inviting.
This bus is terrible so I'll keep it short. The newbies are here now and are lovely! I also tried that weasal coffee back in Vietnam (I hate coffee, what was I thinking)- Actually, I genuinely genuinely GENUINELY loved it and recommend it guys, seriously! mmm...
