Well we've made it to Oz, but our first few days here weren't quite what we were expecting... On Thursday morning, we woke (in a hotel room - what a luxury!) to a pretty dull day. By the time we left the hotel it had started to pour with rain! It was very humid though, so at least we weren't cold. We picked up the new camper, 'Brucey', and were pleased to find that he is bigger and newer than the Jucy. A massive bonus being the fact that cutlery, crockery etc is...

Quick blog update for the last part of NZ before we head off to Oz tomorrow… After another great breakfast on Sunday (thanks Caroline!), we all headed to Akaroa for the afternoon… Well except for Lauren, who was planning a party at the house in our absence (cleverly disguised as a "meeting" with her friends!) Akaroa is a lovely little town based around a harbour and has a French theme to it (i.e. most of the places are called "Le…" f...

We left Queenstown on Monday afternoon and made our way to Te Anau, our camp for the night. From here, we headed up to Milford Sound the following day (a long and twisty 2 hour drive but very beautiful) stopping at Reflection Lakes and a few other locations for a some scenic photography and to feed the sandflies on the way! We also had to tackle the Homer tunnel, which is a long single lane tunnel under a mountain range where we had to wait 15 minutes for traffic...

Chelle has finally relinquished control of the keyboard to me as she's still recovering from the last massive blog essay we did a couple of days ago - so here it is; the first blog a la Alex! We left Wanaka on Saturday morning after a brief look around. There was a market on the park so we had a quick look around that and Chelle nearly got sucked into buying some cherries cos there was a cute kid offering tasters! My cousin Dan had suggested we drive from Wanaka...

We're back after a brief spell out of reception along the West coast! On Sunday, we made our way west from Picton. We didn't quite make it all the way across to the coast, so we stopped over in a place called Murchison on route. It was a really nice campsite, right next to the Buller River, but there was one huge problem with it... the sandflies!! For those of you who've not been to New Zealand, this is the one problem with this place! They are tiny innocent loo...
