At the risk of repetition, this place is amazing. We are running seriously short of superlatives for this blog now. We arrive in Quito abou 9pm last night after 11 hours of planes, via Santiago and Guayaquil (also in Ecuador). Asked for upgrades at start and when we changed planes but they don't really have business class, just a couple of rows of 'premium ecomony'- in this case the same seats with no more legroom. Staff all very nice and congratulatory tho. So...

They've really got it right, these Argentinians. Where Brazillians demand carbs on top of carbs (chips with your rice sir?), Argentinians simply crave meat. With wine obviously. Lunch and dinner tends to be a chunk of meat, often with more meat. We went for dinner in BA in the city centre and the bloke at the next table had two steaks for his main course then ordered a sausage to finish. Brilliant. Ah again, when in Rome... So if we thought the Brazillian side was amazing, the Argentinian side was even better- if you can believe that. We booked a trip that involved a drive through the forest to do some wildlife spotting (we saw toucans) and learn about the plants in the forest combined with a boat trip that took us right into the falls. Okay, let's cut to the chase: you need to go to Iguassu Falls. It really is that simple. In fact, what are you doing still reading this drivel- open a new window and book a flight. Go on. Right, now that´s done... Stunning beyond words. We arrived on 26th, landing at Foz do Iguacu (airport on Brazillian side- the falls are divided between Brazil and Argentina [and Paraguay for a small bit] and B&A both have towns and airports to support the visitors...

Sao Paulo is a bit rubbish. That's no huge surprise- even Brazillians of pretty much every other town will tell you that. Our travelling went okay. Ferry from ilha grande was fine. And then our bus from Angra to SP was over an hour late in arriving. At that point we were very glad we hadn't gone for an overnight bus with tight connection in SP.
