Food served in our guest house. Tonight we have had homemade broccoli and courgette soup with homemade bread. Homemade game pate and chutney with fresh salad ( including flower petals) and a cheese platter of locally sourced cheeses with homemade oat biscuits. Fantastic.

A bit damp again today. Just arrived at Culgower House. Very nice indeed. Welcomed with a pot of tea and homemade biscuits. We have a big bath here, not just a shower so that's where we're heading. We are eating here this evening so we can relax fully before our final day. The view from our room is of the North Sea, although it is a bit grey at the moment.

Stopped at a place called Tain, just off the A9. Got soaked for the first hour and the road was really busy. Took a detour, left, through Alness. This was a good idea. When we rejoined the A9 it was better weather and the road seemed quieter and there was a walk/cycle lane to use along the main road. Now we have taken another detour on the right of the A9. Day 22. Down to the last two days. Leaving the Abalone Guest House and mainly sticking to the A9, north, to a place called Helmsdale. Should be about a 54 mile cycle today. The forecast is for more rain. I think we are tugging the clouds along with us 

Look at the view from The Culbokie Inn over Cromarty Fiirth. The bridge carries the A9 which we will be following tomorrow. Our guest house, The Albalone, is situated on Culbokie Airfield. Our bikes are locked away in a hanger with two microlights under lock and key.
