On September 9 we flew from Iceland to London and stayed at the Hyatt Place near Heathrow. On Sunday the 10th we took the Express Bus from London to Cheltenham in time for a fabulous 2:00 lunch prepared by Tim and Hannah. It was like Thanksgiving feast in September with their friends, Pale, Claire, Michael and Phillipa. We spent two nights in their beautiful home.
On Monday while Hannah was working, Tim took us to Arlington Row, the site of their wedding and Oxford. We had a great day exploring and reconnecting.
On Tuesday we took the train to Stratford Upon Avon where we stayed at the beautiful Stratford Hotel. That evening we went to the RSC production of "Kingdom Come". While waiting in the rain for a taxi we visited with a very nice Canadian couple and shared a taxi ride back to the hotel.
On Wednesday, we explored Stratford in the continuing rain and of course visited Shakespeare's birthplace along with many other historical sites. It was a lovely and informative one day stop. That afternoon we took the train to London.
In London we stayed at the Thistle Trafalgar Hotel. That evening we went to the Trafalgar Studio Theatre to see "Apologia" with Stockard Channing. We thoroughly enjoyed both the hotel and the play.
The next day we took a taxi to the airport. Our driver was a 79 year old man who has been driving a taxi in London since 1959. He was entertaining, informative and quite the character.
