Although our river cruise started and ended in Bordeaux, we decided to add another night before the cruise and again after (September 29 and October 8). This entry is of our time in the city of Bordeaux only. Our first experience in Bordeaux was at the Adagio Hotel. Although it seemed a bit stark compared to our usual hotels it turned out to be more than adequate with a good location and a friendly staff. Our last hotel (La Maison Bordeaux) turned out to be a gem. It had all the charm we were looking for in this beautiful city. It turns out that both hotels were within 15 minute walking distance from the river and our cruise boat.

While in Bordeaux we experienced everthing from quaint sidewalk cafes to The Grand Hotel and the spectacular wine museum. We won't list everything we did here but the photos and titles will give you a sense of what we saw.
