Fairly eventful first night sleeping in the van set the alarm off twice waking the whole campsite up at 22:30!!!!! I couldn't sleep as the mattress kept splitting in two and moving (not for the right reasons) although Ann says I was snoring. First night......lake tekapo beautiful location. Great drive down from Christchurch roads quiet only got a little bit lost!!!! Visited the church of the good shepherd and had a swim in the hot springs. Ann went walkabout up the mountain while I drank the wine. Wined and dined watching the sun go down on the mountains. Waiting for the stars to come out hoping to see the Milky Way that's if I haven't ate it.

This is it no going back now. Picked up the campervan......fortunately no flies on the wall!!! The girl did ask if we wanted a double or single quilts opted for the singles lol. Finally arrived in Christchurch after long journey. Very sad to see the devastation left by the earthquake. Photo taken of 185 chairs representing the lives lost. Early night (as nothing to do town very deserted) good nights sleep ready for the big adventure tomorrow......my driving.

12hrs later who's feet are who's!!!! The contraband of Percy pigs made it in but we had to declare our walking boots for inspection. Good job I cleaned off the buffalo poo from Lantau island.
