Monday August 3rd 2015 The awning was saturated with dew so we packed up slowly and we were driving out one end of the campground as the ranger drove in the other - so ou paths never met. Mal did stop at the swimming hole for one last snap, but the light was completely wrong and it was a crappy shot. Friday - 31 July We didn't race to get away. We retrieved the washing from the line and checked that we could still access the internet - well that took longer than we would have hoped - maybe we have it sorted now. The traffic was light as we ran North to Townsville - we found an Auto store and purchased a spare air filter for the run up the cape. Day Eight - Wednesday The sun came up this morning like a lava lamp - squeezed by the thick bands of cloud - a large soft orange globule of light. The ducks swam on regardless and the swans lost none of their regal countenance. Day Six - Monday Peaceful night even with the highway a stones throw away. St Lawrence is an interesting little spot - no marina -yet, no casino - yet - no big tidy up - that would strip all the character away - it has the remains of an old meat works down by the inlet - it is a great little spot with a very large and generous free camp at the show grounds just outside of town.
