Full moon madness!
So last night was the full moon party. Where do I begin!? I went to the party with my Spanish friends who I met in Bangkok and also two Canadian girls.
As soon as we got in the taxi, we knew what we were letting ourselves into. There was an incredibly drunk/drugged lad from Ireland who wasn't drunk in a funny way, more in an aggressive way.
As we arrived and began the descend to the beach we could immediately smell the vomit.
Many people had been drinking all day and there were some real states! I also saw an English guy trying to steal something meaningless and worthless from the shop (can't remember exactly but it was something like a child's bikini) it wasn't long before he was chased by three Thai locals and I didn't stick around to see what happened next.
On numerous occasions I saw barely conscious bodies being pulled out of the sea and many people throwing up.
I don't want to portray the full moon party as all bad. The party for me was fantastic, I had a great time, met many people who I'd seen before from previous places.
The experience itself was one to remember so if you can avoid the people who go overboard it's well worth going. I'd probably put it down a 'tick off the list' thing rather than an annual visit.
Today was quite the contrast. After getting in at 7am & waking up at 12, I rehydrated myself with several litres of water, and went for the standard hangover cure with the English Breakfast.
We then went down to Haad Rin to book our mammoth journey to Ko Phi Phi which will begin tomorrow evening.
Next up we got a taxi boat to a small secluded beach round the corner (Hat Thian) from the manic Haad Rin beach.
This was beautiful and the best way to cure a hangover. We swam up to a hammock which was situated out in the ocean (pictured). It was very relaxing until my motion sickness kicked in and I had to swim back.
Overall my stay here has been fantastic and incident free, unlike some people who I saw today walking around with a drip. I'm looking forward to going to Ko Phi Phi, but not the 15 hour epic journey.

philyphil Glad you have ticked the box and not one for every year. Like the hangover solution it beats going to Warrington on a first day back.
