Woo, Thailand is ace. For me I love it as much as Brazil and Argentina but in a different way.
First port of call - Phuket. Which was nothing special. I don't know why people like it so much. We went to Patong beach about 45 mins away and had a little swim. There were unknown creatures in the water that kept stinging us, I don't know if they were little jellyfish or something equally as evil! There was a thunderstorm and we took shelter in a beach bar. All the waitresses were women. But in my niave state I didn't realise they were all ladyboys. And very pretty too!
We then got a ferry to The Phi Phi Islands which were just unbelievable! If you've seen the film "The Beach" thats where they filmed it. We loved everything about it, the town with all the little streets with stalls, the food, the bars on the beach all had a hippy feel to them and the water and cliffy scenary was spot on.
The 4 of us went for a meal one evening, then on to Carpe Diem Bar where I got a free cocktail :o) After watch the fire twirling and band (I also played the drums - good times) we went skinny dipping. The evening ended in a huge row between me and Ruth and then Helen and Mimi. The following day we all spent some time alone!
Ruth and I also did a day trip round the islands snorkelling. It was ace! The water and the coral and all the fish were out of this world. Ruth got stung by a jellyfish and wouldn't let me wee on it! haha. No it wasn't so bad. I swam with a moray eel and we went to a deserted beach that had cheeky monkeys on it!
Next stop.......Koh Samui. We stayed in the centre called Chewang in a little beach hut. From there the 4 of us went to the island of Koh Phangnan by speed boat for a night of raving at The Full Moon Party which is held once a month (Ruth went to get her hair done, see pics, and nearly missed it. I went to find her on a motorbike taxi - exciting)!. The beach was packed with 10,000 party goers. Although its not our type of music we had fun and again went skinny dipping (this appears to becoming an addiction)! At around 3AM Ruth went to the toilet and lost her way coming back. The next 2 hours were spent searching for her. Not fun when you've sobered up and are walking around all these drugged up idiots raving their heads off. We eventually reunited and speed boated home getting in at 7AM. Phew.
The next day Helen was taken to hospital with acute gastorentoritus and Heath Ledger died :o(. So sad.
The following day it was time to make our way to Bangkok. We opted for the 14 hr overnight train journey which was soooo exciting. We had these cool beds. When I woke up in the morning I peeped round the corner from my top bunk and everyone else on the train was up and had their beds folded into chairs. There I was half asleep in my knickers. Ruth was laughing her Rastafarian head off!
