Ok,
Just a quickie to fill you in because our plans have been ruined! After I last posted our blog we were off to Cambodia. Sadly I got sick and spent Tuesday to Saturday night in hospital in Bangkok. Although it was very posh. They had a Starbucks and McDonalds that Ruth made the most of!
On Sunday we finally set off for Cambodia - 13 hours. Phew. We had a bit of a shock crossing the border. We had to walk over and it took 2 hours. Then we were put in a txi for the remaining 3 hr drive down a dirt track. The Thai airline pays the Cambodian government money not to make it into a proper road so more people fly. ANyway it was so bumpy and dusty. People drive wherever they want and we nearly had so many accidents. There were really thin cows and water buffalo walking in the road and kids who can barely walk on their own by the road in the middle of nowhere, its really sad.
We're staying in a really nice hotel/hostel and on monday we went round the lost temples in a tuktuk with our guide SooChoo. We visited Angkor Wat which is just breathtaking. We will load up pictures soon but this is just unbelievable.
Throughout the day I got covered in a horrible rash and couldn't breathe properly so back to Hospital Monday night. I was having an allergic reaction to my medication so was having an asthma attack and some wierd skin thing. So its not been fun lately.
Today we had a day off because I had to go back to hospital. Then we spent the rest of the day taking out Ruth's hair braids. Its been 7 hours so far and theres still some in. I encouraged her to shave it (so mean) but she wouldn't hehe!
Tomorrow we are heading to Pnom Penh the capital city. I think its only 6 hours on the bus whixh is nothing these days. There we'll go to S21 (The killing Fields Torture House) and The Killing Fields. Very very sad.
Not long to go now and we're not going to have enough time to do everything we had hoped becayse of sickly me but not to worry.
Our love goes to everyone. We hope you are all well.
Love Carolyn and Ruth xx
